課程概述

This course is designed to enable the students to become critical and informed users of psychological instruments which are designed to assess the cognitive abilities and achievement as well as the personality characteristics of children and adolescents. The course will also cover specialty populations in which assessment techniques may vary as a function of age and a variety of handicapping conditions. In addition, students will learn how to write a professional clinical report. Principles of ethical assessment and professional behaviors are an important foundation to the course and to the development of students’ skills in assessment. At the conclusion of the course, the students will have obtained familiarity and practice in a variety of cognitive instruments, achievement measures, emotional, personality measure, and specialty assessment techniques which can be used in evaluating children and adolescents.  

課程目標
• To be able to conceptualize content and process issues involved in interviewing patients for psychological evaluation.
• To become familiar with ethical issues involved in psychological assessment
• To become with administration and scoring, and interpretation of various assessment tools.
• To have a moderate level of proficiency with psychometric issues involved in the diagnosis of mental retardation and learning disabilities
